ICTV PRODUCTION PROPOSAL

 

Ithaca College Television is proud to have an open policy regarding the proposal of new shows. Students interested in proposing shows are encouraged to complete the following application, discuss their ideas with the Manager of Television Operations
and/or current members of the ICTV Executive and Production Staffs.

The following outline is designed to assist you in proposing your show.

Applications for the Fall 2004 semester
must be emailed or delivered to Eloise Greene (126 Park Hall)
November 8, 2004 by 4:00pm.

(All information submitted will be kept confidential to ICTV, and will not be shared outside of this organization.)

 

 
Section 1: PERSONAL INFORMATION--
  1. Name

  2. Major, Minor, Current Class, Year of Graduation, GPA

  5. Why do you want to be a producer?

    (Please clearly indicate your preferred method of communication, i.e. telephone or email)

 
Section 2: SHOW INFORMATION--
  1. Title

  2. Synopsis

  3. Rationale
    Why should ICTV produce this show? Why is this good for us?

  4. Topics (Themes)

  5. Discussion Content

  6. Booking Guests
    1. Sources
      Where will you find your guests?
    2. Strategy
      How will you attract guests to participate in your program? What is your overall plan?

  7. Production
    How the show will be recorded/cablecast? Include challenges, methods for engaging crew, and studio times.

  8. Format
    Basic overview of finished show, start to finish.

  9. Timetable
    Provide a semester timetable of events, including all taping dates, all meetings, and any planning days.
    Do no give generalities, please provide actual dates.

Section 3: TECHNICAL INFORMATION--

  1. Unit Positions
    List the various technical and non-technical positions you will need to fill.

  2. Pre-Selected Positions
    List the technical and non-technical positions that have already been filled.

  3. Equipment Needs
    List all of the technologies you will need, including Master Control Decks and Control Room.

  4. Set / Props
    Describe your plans for your set, specifically discussing the design and props needed.
